Honda has finally unveiled their Civic Type-R new 2023 iteration and the excitement is brewing for me as the design is quite pleasing. Surprisingly, it is being shown for the first time in America, for the release.

Specifications are still under wraps, but it was leaked to be propelled by 325hp with 310lb-ft of torque. The grills / air intakes, inter cooler, and vertical tail reflectors, add to this already sleek platform and address the faults I noted with the Sport Touring trim. I do think the wing could be a bit smaller. Alcantara cabins are not my favorite either due to their rapid deterioration and red is an easy color to get dirty. The reasoning for the alcantara front seats and cloth back seats are because of their lightweight properties and it mimics traditional race car out-fittings. Will this Type-R beat the all new 2023 GR Corolla Hot Hatch? I know they will both be absurdly priced with ADMs attached to the MSRPs so good luck to everyone hoping to score this beast sub ~$50k!
